  • Arendal Poker Run

    Arendal Poker Run

Arendal Poker Run last Saturday was another great happening by Rune Høgevoll and the guys at Neptun Powerboat Club. 23 participating boats made the trip south west to Kristiansand for lunch with return to Arendal in the afternoon.. Even with less than great weather the spirit was high up. I jumped in the helicopter just east of Arendal city picking up the fleet at the starting line. Two and two boats set off specially for making most out of the photos.

    Goldfish 50 Ocean HD

Our first outing with the Goldfish 50 Ocean powered by Mercury Racing QC4 1100hp engines. Right out of the box just some 6-7 minutes after the boat leaving the marina she ran 91 kts or around 105 mph... Pretty fast, because this is a big boat compared to American Hi Performance boats of the same length.

Last nail in the Venture Cup coffin

For many race fans, the London - Monte Carlo race was to be THE race of the season. The start in London was set to the 7th of June but with only a week to go, the race had its final cancellation last Friday when the organizer after discussing with both Belgain Authorities and the UIM threw in the towel. This after first being denied approval by the RYA early May. Sad for the fans mainly for the many teams and also the organizer who spent a long time for preparing this.

    Fantastic ride

At Haulover we got onboard this Cigarette 38 Top Gun TS. This was powered by a pair of Mercury Racing SC575s. When making it out from Haulover it was dark so we took it quite easy on our way down south. Running on the inside we're accompanied by a couple Outerlimits' but they disappeared after a while. And got there in the end safe and sound.
